The Wire Burn is a musical project founded by childhood friends Joe and Jon in 2021. After years of pursuing their own musical endeavours, the two reconnected during the COVID-19 lockdown and started making music together again.

Jon is a guitarist by trade and is responsible for a lot of the organic feel of their music, whereas Joe, a computer programmer by day tends towards the technical side of production and loves sound design.

With a shared passion for music that spans diverse genres, The Wire Burn has crafted a sound that draws on their individual influences and shared history. They draw inspiration from a range of sources including 90's trip-hop, rave and dub artists such as Massive Attack, Portishead, Leftfield, and The Prodigy, as well as soundtrack work by Clint Mansell and Trent Reznor, infusing their music with a distinctive beat-driven, moody, filmic edge.

Despite the challenges of working remotely, Joe and Jon collaborated using Zoom, Slack and iCloud to write and record their songs, sharing their recordings with friends and family who were immediately impressed with what they heard.

Inspired by the positive feedback, The Wire Burn decided to release their music to the wider world. They are currently working on their first release, a downtempo EP featuring some of the first tracks they wrote together.

In addition to recording, The Wire Burn is preparing to start playing live performances. The first of these will be in summer ‘23 - make sure to link us on social media to find out where and when.

Looking ahead, The Wire Burn is excited to continue creating new music and connecting with their fans both online and in person. With their debut release on the horizon and live performances in the works, The Wire Burn is poised to make a mark on the music scene.
